Exclusively for Whisky Montréal, this Whiskymakers Masterclass includes the inaugural release of one of Canada’s best, and internationally award-winning, single malt whiskies.
Comprising five (5) drams, Whiskymaker Dr. Graeme Macaloney will pour Caledonian single malts and a triple-distilled potstill drams. The new-make underpinning these won the prestigious World Whiskies Awards best new-make in Canada & top 2 in the World:
- Glenloy single malt matured in re-charred red wine barriques married with ex-Bourbon and Sherry casks
- Macloney’s triple-distilled potstill whiskey, matured in Spanish Oloroso Sherry casks
- Peated Mac na Braiche – the first peated single malt by a Canadian distillery smoked at the distillery using Canadian barley and local peat!
Dr. Macaloney will also give a whisky-makers insight into how their Macaloney’s Twa Cask Highland and Islay Scotches were constructed through vatting and finishing to create 89 & 93 score whiskies:
- Macaloney’s Twa Cask Highland: Blair Athol & MacDuff
- Macaloney’s Twa Cask Islay: Caol Ila / Bunnahabhain – top 3 winner at World Whiskies Awards!
Includes slides of Macaloney’s Caledonian distillery, one of N.America’s largest craft distilleries, built using traditional Scotch potstills, with proprietary peat-smoking at the distillery.
